Wizards to Sign Euroleague Big Man Tristan Vukcevic

The Washington Wizards are finalizing a deal to bring aboard 7-foot-tall Tristan Vukcevic from Serbia for two years, as reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Tristan Vukcevic reached an agreement to leave his Serbian team, KK Partizan, after a buyout, announced by team president Ostoja Mijailovic.

The buyout, valued in the millions, will be divided between Partizan and Vukcevic’s former team, Real Madrid, due to a previous agreement. This move will allow the towering player to join the Wizards.

Vukcevic, who recently turned 21, was chosen as the 42nd overall pick in the 2023 draft by the Wizards. General manager Will Dawkins expressed excitement about Vukcevic’s potential and praised his skills in shooting and passing.

Although Vukcevic expressed a desire to join the team last summer, Washington decided to have him continue playing overseas for another season.

During this time, he had limited playing time in 12 EuroLeague games with Partizan. However, he performed well in 14 ABA League games, averaging 10.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.9 minutes per game.
