Rising star Victor Wembanyama, a rookie for the San Antonio Spurs, showcased his talent in a thrilling overtime victory against the Houston Rockets at the Frost Bank Center on a Friday evening.
Following his NBA debut, where he tallied 15 points, five rebounds, one block, and two steals in a losing effort against the Mavericks on Wednesday, Wembanyama, widely considered the leading candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year, played a pivotal role in his team’s rebound in his first home game.
The skilled big man had an impressive performance on Friday night, scoring 21 points, grabbing 12 rebounds, blocking 3 shots, stealing the ball twice, and even dishing out one assist in 31 minutes of play.

Wembanyama electrified the Spurs’ crowd by executing a driving baseline layup, knotting the score at 111-111 with just 20 seconds remaining in regulation.
From that point, San Antonio managed to secure the win in overtime, providing a dramatic ending.
Standing at an imposing 7 feet 4 inches, the young star now aims to lead the San Antonio Spurs to consecutive victories as they return to action on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers at the Crypto.com Arena.
