The Miami Heat have encountered early-season struggles, with a 1-4 record, and Tyler Herro has expressed his concern about the consecutive losses.
Herro is underlining the need for a change in the team’s early-season trajectory.
Heats’ guard Tyler Herro put on a stellar performance, scoring 30 points against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night.
However, it failed to counteract Brooklyn’s comeback, resulting in the Heat’s fourth consecutive loss. Herro is emphasizing the necessity for change, even with just five games into the regular season.
“We didn’t have a flawless performance in the first three quarters, but it was quite good. We had control and the lead, but unfortunately, we let it slip away again,” Herro commented. “Tomorrow, we’ll analyze the game footage and strive for improvement. We can’t indulge in self-pity at this stage of the season; it’s still early, of course. However, it must start to matter to us at some point. We can’t keep losing games and considering it acceptable.”
The Miami Heat’s sole win this season came after narrowly defeating the Detroit Pistons to kick off the season.
Herro remarked, “Previous glories don’t carry any weight in this season. It’s a fresh start every year, and we must find solutions to secure victories. Self-pity isn’t an option, and no one is showing sympathy for us. The responsibility lies with us and the players in this locker room.”
Despite leading the league in clutch victories last season, the Heat now find themselves on the receiving end of last-minute defeats.
Herro emphasizes the team’s need for consistency and improved performance throughout the entire game.
The Miami Heat’s next game, on home court, is scheduled against the Washington Wizards as they make their debut in the in-season tournament.
Following that, the Heat will host the Los Angeles Lakers in the regular season, with hopes of reversing their fortunes.
