Toronto Raptors’ Make a Roster Adjustment

The Toronto Raptors are waiving Ron Harper Jr. from his two-way contract, following a left shoulder injury he sustained while playing for Raptors 905 in a G League match against the Long Island Nets last Thursday.

Harper, a 6-foot-6 guard/forward, is set to undergo season-ending surgery on his shoulder next week. The 23-year-old, who signed a two-way deal with the Raptors in July 2022 after going undrafted from Rutgers, had signed a similar contract in the recent offseason.

Despite making appearances in 10 NBA games, with one this season, scoring 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting in 52 total minutes of action, Harper is now parting ways with the team.

Also, across 49 combined Showcase Cup and regular-season matchups with the 905, Harper maintained an average of 16.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, clocking in at 32.3 minutes per contest.

With this development, the Raptors have an open two-way spot available, and they are likely to fill it over the weekend.
