Thunder Notes: Josh Giddey Allegations, Waters, SGA, and More

Accusations are swirling around OKC Thunder guard, Josh Giddey, who stands accused of engaging in a romantic relationship with a minor named Olivia Cook.

These allegations surfaced initially on social media, where users shared what seemed to be evidence of Giddey interacting with Cook when she was reportedly 17.

Notably, a Snapchat post depicting Giddey and Cook in a post-coital state with the text “Just f-cked Josh Giddey” has been widely cited.

Additional posts on social media seemingly corroborate the story, along with findings on Cook’s TikTok account, suggesting she was under 18.

It’s essential to note that these allegations lack substantial verification and primarily stem from second-hand reporting of social media content.

As of now, neither Giddey nor Cook has issued a statement. Despite these allegations, Giddey played a pivotal role in the recent Thunder victory over the Bulls, contributing 10 points, 2 assists, and 6 rebounds in 29 minutes.

Lindy Waters Injury :

Meanwhile, Lindy Waters III is facing an uncertain situation due to lower back spasms, leading to his removal from Wednesday’s game against the Bulls.

The severity of the injury remains undisclosed, and the Oklahoma City Thunder fans, having previously dealt with Kenrich Williams’ back spasms, are awaiting further updates.

The contrasting ages of Williams (28) and Waters III (26) add a layer of complexity to the team’s injury situation. Head coach Mark Daigneault is expected to provide more information on the injury situation today.

Waters’ potential return is anticipated for the upcoming game against the 76ers. However, if he remains on the sidelines, players such as Kenrich Williams, Isaiah Joe, and Aaron Wiggins are likely candidates to see increased playing time in subsequent contests.

SGA’s Milestone

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SGA) achieved a significant milestone by surpassing Serge Ibaka (6054) on the Thunder’s all-time scoring list during the recent game against the Bulls.

With a career total of 6,056 points and counting, SGA expressed his honor in joining the ranks of Thunder’s top scorers:

”It’s cool. Stuff like that is always cool. You dream of it as a kid. Obviously the list has some heavy hitters on it. Honored to be on the list.”

Top 3 leading scorers

  • Russell Westbrook : 18859
  • Kevin Durant : 17566
  • SGA : 6056
