Free agent sharpshooter Isaiah Joe has agreed to return to the OKC Thunder on a new four-year, $48 million deal.
Also, Free agent forward Aaron Wiggins has signed a new five-year, $47 million contract with the team reports Shams Charania of the Athletic. This comes after the Thunder declined their team options on both players just a few days ago.
Initially, Joe’s option was valued at $2.165 million, while Wiggins’ was set at $1.989 million, making them quite affordable for the team.
It seemed surprising that Oklahoma City would turn down these cost-effective options, considering both players were solid rotation pieces during the 2023/24 season.
Joe, who joined Oklahoma City two seasons ago after being waived by the Sixers, has been one of the team’s most dependable shooters off the bench.
He averaged 8.8 points per game with a .412 three-point shooting percentage in 151 games, including 11 starts, and played an average of 18.8 minutes per game.
Wiggins, selected 55th overall in the 2021 draft, has spent three seasons with the Thunder. During that time, he averaged 7.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in 198 games, including 53 starts, with an average of 18.9 minutes per game.
His career shooting percentages are impressive at .514 from the field, .394 from three-point range, and .780 from the free-throw line.
