Thunder Assign, Recall Jaylin Williams from OKC Blue

3:39 PM : The Oklahoma City Thunder has recalled forward/center Jaylin Williams back from his stint with the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League, per the teams’ PR.

His injury status remains unchanged in the latest update. It’s probable that this is merely a strategic move to allow him to be on the bench with the team without violating any rules.

Such scenarios are common during double header days, providing an opportunity for Williams to have a productive practice session this afternoon, especially since the Thunder didn’t have one, Ryan Stiles of the Thunder media notes.

11:58AM : The Oklahoma City Thunder has taken the step of assigning forward/center Jaylin Williams to their NBA G League’s affiliate, Oklahoma City Blue, as officially announced by the team.

This move is most likely a part of Williams’ recovery process, as he has been absent from the early part of the season due to a hamstring injury sustained during the preseason.

The Blue, whose season is scheduled to commence on November 10, unveiled their training camp roster on Tuesday.

Williams is expected to participate in their practice sessions to shake off any lingering rust before his eventual return to the Thunder’s lineup.

Jaylin played a pivotal role in the Thunder’s preseason matches. In one of OKC’s preseason games against the Charlotte Hornets, he delivered an impressive performance, putting up 18 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, providing 3 assists, and notching a block in a mere 23 minutes.
