The Phoenix Suns are planning to bring on a few assistant coaches to join the team of their new head coach, Mike Budenholzer, as reported by Sarah Todd of Theo Deseret News.
One of the new additions will be Chad Forcier, who is currently an assistant with the Jazz. Forcier and Budenholzer have a history of working together in San Antonio, and Forcier also spent four years on Budenholzer’s staff in Milwaukee, according to Todd.
Meanwhile, the Jazz are also losing assistant coach Lamar Skeeter to the Charlotte Hornets this offseason. Instead of hiring new coaches, Utah intends to promote from within their current staff. Sean Sheldon is expected to be elevated to a more prominent role.
Additionally, the Suns will hire Chaisson Allen as an assistant, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. Allen, a former standout player at Northeastern, played professionally overseas for five years before moving into coaching.
He has primarily coached in the G League, including a two-year period as head coach of the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks’ affiliate. Budenholzer is familiar with Allen from their overlapping time with the Bucks.
