Suns, Josh Okogie Agree to Two Year Deal

6:15 PM : According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, free agent forward/guard Josh Okogie has agreed to remain with the Phoenix Suns on a two-year, $16 million contract. We reported earlier that the Suns are expected to sign Josh few hours ago as indicated below.

3:00PM : The Suns were eyeing veteran point guard Kyle Lowry for the upcoming season, but with news of him re-signing with the Sixers, they’ll need to look for other options.

According to John Gamboro of Arizona Sports, the Suns are likely to re-sign Josh Okogie as their main guard next season.

Complementing Gambo’s source, Gerald Bourguet of PHNX Sports reported  that the Suns are still interested in bringing Okogie back with a deal slightly above the veteran’s minimum about two weeks ago.

Okogie recently declined his $2.95 million player option to test free agency, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported. The Suns still hold Okogie’s Early Bird rights.

Okogie, 25, joined the Suns as a free agent in 2022 and re-signed last summer on a two-year deal with an option.

He mostly played a backup role this past season, averaging 4.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 60 games, playing 16 minutes per game.

Selected by Minnesota with the 20th pick in the 2018 draft, Okogie spent four years with the Timberwolves before moving to Phoenix.
