The Detroit Pistons are set to convert Stanley Umude’s Exhibit 10 agreement into a two-way contract, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Stanley Umude, a 24-year-old shooting guard who joined the Pistons last autumn as an undrafted player from Arkansas, spent the majority of the season with the Motor City Cruise, the team’s G League affiliate.
However, he did briefly play in one NBA game on a 10-day contract in February and also participated in this year’s Summer League as part of the Pistons’ squad.
Umude secured his two-way contract through an impressive preseason performance, where he averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists across four games, displaying a shooting proficiency of 45.5% from the field and 43.8% from beyond the three-point arc.
Detroit now has both of its two-way positions occupied, held by Jared Rhoden and Malcolm Cazalon.
With 14 players under standard contracts, the team has only one roster spot remaining out of the 15 available.
