San Antonio Spurs has recalled Sidy Cissoko, their 44th overall pick, from the Austin Spurs, as per the Spurs’ PR department. The rookie wing will be eligible to play in today’s game against the Raptors today.

Cissoko has not yet made his debut in the regular season, but he put up an average of 12.8 points in 29 minutes per game with the G League Ignite last year.

In fact, this move is a strategic maneuver to temporarily fill the void left by Devin Vassell. Speaking of Devin Vassell, there’s positive news regarding his condition.

He recently underwent an MRI for a groin injury, and according to Andrew Lopez of ESPN, the fourth-year swingman was diagnosed with a mild left adductor strain and will be considered on a day-to-day basis.

While Vassell won’t be playing in the upcoming game against Toronto, it seems he might not be out for as long as initially feared.
