Former Pistons guard Shake Milton is set to join the Knicks after clearing waivers, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Multiple contenders showed interest in the 27-year-old shooting guard, who finalized a buyout agreement with the Pistons on Friday, granting him the opportunity to compete in the playoffs with a different team.
New York marks Milton’s third team this season, following stints with Minnesota and Detroit, where he was traded to at the deadline.
Despite only appearing in four games for the Pistons, Milton, with a non-guaranteed $5 million contract for the next season, seemed unlikely to be part of the team’s future plans.
With an average of 4.9 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists across 42 games this season, Milton adds another scoring threat on the wing for New York, which is grappling with injuries across its roster.
He will vie for playing time alongside two other former Pistons, Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks, both acquired in a trade with Detroit last month.
