Russell Westbrook May Leave Clippers For Better Opportunity Elsewhere

Russell Westbrook wasn’t pleased about being benched for the LA Clippers once James Harden joined, as per Law Murray and Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Apparently, Clippers executive Lawrence Frank had to persuade Westbrook to accept the role of sixth man for LA. Westbrook, who has a $4 million player option for next season, might opt out in search of better opportunities elsewhere, according to Murray.

Despite contributing significantly throughout the season with the Clippers, Westbrook faced career lows in playing time, averaging just 22.5 minutes per game, along with 11 points and 4.5 assists per game.

He particularly struggled against Dallas, managing only 6.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting a dismal 26 percent from the field. However, he wasn’t the only one facing challenges on the team.
