Harden’s trade request from the Sixers has escalated, with him publicly criticizing Sixers president Daryl Morey and accusing him of lying.
The former NBA MVP also stated that his relationship with the team is irreparable. He was subsequently fined $100,000 for his remarks, though it’s likely that this penalty will further strain his relationship with the franchise.

Given the continuous off-court problems, a source within the Sixers organization pointed out that Joel Embiid might become increasingly aggravated by the ongoing situation and eventually request to be traded away from the team.
While it’s currently just speculation, the ongoing rumors about a potential trade involving Embiid do raise concerns about the possibility of a negative outcome.
“I believe there’s another potential consequence that could arise if this situation persists,” stated the source in conversation with Steve Bulpett of Heavy.com. When asked to elaborate, the source further remarked, “I’m referring to the key player. Sooner or later, he might reach a breaking point due to all of this.”
Indeed, the ongoing James Harden matter has sparked various discussions about Joel Embiid’s future with the Sixers, and this new development only adds more fuel to the escalating speculation.
Interestingly, the likelihood of Embiid requesting a trade appears to have risen. The New York Knicks have also been associated with Embiid, especially following his invitation to Knicks president Leon Rose and his associate William Wesley to his wedding.
