Houston Rockets forward Tari Eason, who played in all 82 games during his rookie season, won’t be able to continue his streak this upcoming season.
Coach Ime Udoka has revealed that Eason will be sidelined for the next two to three weeks due to a stress reaction in his left leg, as reported by Vanessa Richardson.
At 22 years old, Eason had an average of 9.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 21.5 minutes per game in the 2022/23 season, showcasing potential as a versatile three-and-D wing.
Despite the Rockets making veteran additions to their roster in the offseason, such as Dillon Brooks and Jeff Green, Eason was expected to maintain his role in the rotation, with optimism surrounding his development.
He recently expressed ambitious goals, aspiring to become the NBA’s premier defender.
If Eason remains sidelined for the next three weeks, he’ll miss at least Houston’s first nine games in the regular season.
During his absence, the team may rely more on players like Jabari Smith, Jae’Sean Tate, Reggie Bullock, Dillon Brooks, and Jeff Green, particularly in the wing and forward positions.
