One of the New York Knicks’ centers, Mitchell Robinson or Isaiah Hartenstein, is expected to part ways with the team this off-season.

Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reports that the Knicks plan to keep Isaiah Hartenstein and are looking to trade Robinson.

“Hartenstein, at this moment, is now generally expected to return to New York, as the Knicks have contacted opposing teams about moving Mitchell Robinson,” Fischer writes.

It may not make sense to keep both Robinson and Hartenstein if their combined salaries total around $30 million annually. That’s why a Robinson trade could be in the works if Hartenstein stays.

Robinson, 26, averaged a career-low 5.6 points last season while pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game. He also played in just 31 games, matching his career low.

Teams in need of a center, such as the Grizzlies ,OKC and the Lakers, might take a chance on Robinson, hoping a change of scenery helps him regain his form.

The Knicks also have two first-round picks, which they could use to draft a new center to replace whichever player is traded.
