Raptors Secure Immanuel Quickley With 5-Year, $175m Contract

Immanuel Quickley is set to sign a five-year, $175 million contract to stay with the Toronto Raptors, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Quickley, who was the runner-up for Sixth Man of the Year in the 2022/23 season, became the focal point of the Raptors’ return in a trade involving OG Anunoby with the Knicks in December. He arrived in Toronto halfway through the season alongside RJ Barrett.

During his first 38 games as a Raptor, the fourth-year guard averaged 18.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 39.5% from beyond the arc. His performance solidified his place in the team’s future plans.

This marks the Raptors’ second significant financial commitment this summer to a key player. They are also reportedly planning to sign Scottie Barnes to a five-year rookie contract extension starting in 2025/26, estimated at around $225 million.

In addition to Quickley, the Raptors have several other key players approaching free agency. Gary Trent Jr., while open to re-signing, recognizes it requires mutual interest. Currently, there’s no update on Toronto’s stance regarding Trent.

Jordan Nwora and Garrett Temple will also be unrestricted free agents. Moreover, Bruce Brown has a team option that is likely to be exercised by midnight, today.
