The Toronto Raptors intend to exercise their $23 million option on Bruce Brown Jr., aiming to trade him during the offseason, according to Doug Smith of the Toronto Star.
Brown, who came to the Raptors from the Indiana Pacers as part of the Pascal Siakam deal, was initially considered for a trade at the deadline, but no agreement was reached.
The Raptors are keen to move Brown before the next trade deadline, ideally within the next month. Brown’s stint with the Raptors was less than stellar, partly due to a knee issue he revealed after the season ended.
Last season, Brown played in 67 regular-season games, averaging 10.8 points, 2.9 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game, with a field goal percentage of 47.8%. Despite his struggles, rival teams are expected to show interest in acquiring the point guard.
