Porzingis Out Sunday vs Warriors

The Boston Celtics will face off against the Golden State Warriors on Sunday afternoon at home in Massachusetts.

However, they’ll be missing one of their key players, Kristaps Porzingis, who is sidelined with a quad contusion, the team announced. In his absence, Al Horford is expected to step into the starting lineup.

Porzingis has been having a strong season, averaging 20.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game while shooting 52.6% from the field and 37.5% from three-point range in 44 games.

The Celtics currently hold the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a record of 47-12 in 59 games.

They’re also riding a ten-game winning streak, with their latest victory being a 138-110 win over the Dallas Mavericks, led by Kyrie Irving.

In that game, Porzingis contributed 24 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one block in 29 minutes of play.

After facing the Warriors, the Celtics will head to Ohio to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday evening, led by Donovan Mitchell.
