Paul George Explores Free Agency Options with, Sixers, Magic and Clippers

After declining his player option with the Los Angeles Clippers, Paul George plans to discuss potential moves with the Sixers, Magic and potentially the Clippers starting late Sunday through Monday.

According to reports from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and The Athletic’s Shams Charania, George is weighing his options with these teams.

The Magic, with ample salary cap space and a roster poised to rise in competitiveness, present an appealing destination for free agents. The Sixers and Clippers, too, are attractive options for top-tier players looking for new contracts.

George, at 34 years old, averaged 22.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game last season with the Clippers. His scoring ability could significantly bolster the Magic’s offense, which struggled in the past year.

However, there are concerns whether his offensive contributions might compromise the team’s overall defensive strength.

The Clippers had a middling defensive rating of 114.6 this season. George’s height advantage at 6-8 would allow him to defend multiple positions alongside Banchero and Wagner on the wings.
