Pacers Sign, Waive 3 Players Ahead Of Regular Season

OCT 18: The Pacers made an announcement today via a press release, indicating that guards Kyle Mangas and Darius McGhee, as well as forward Reid Travis have been waived. As a result, the team’s roster currently comprises 18 players, which falls short by 3 players from the 21-player limit for the preseason roster.

OCT 17 : The Indiana Pacers have officially added three fresh faces to their roster, according to the team’s official press release. These new additions include guards Kyle Mangas and Darius McGhee, as well as forward Reid Travis.

Reid Travis, a former Kentucky Wildcat, faced the disappointment of going undrafted in 2019 and subsequently embarked on a journey overseas.

He played a season in Germany and followed it up with three years in Japan. In contrast, Kyle Mangas, another undrafted talent, entered the professional basketball scene and showcased his skills in international leagues.

His journey included a stint at Indiana Wesleyan from 2017 to 2021, followed by a season in the Czech Republic and another in Lithuania.

Darius McGhee, an undersized guard standing at 5’9″, defied the odds by becoming one of the most formidable long-range shooters in the NCAA during his impressive five-year college career at Liberty.

Over the past three years, he consistently made 4.1 three-pointers per game at an impressive 39.6% accuracy, while maintaining an average of 21.3 points per game in 98 matches, with an average playing time of 32 minutes.

His prowess earned him the title of three-time ASUN Player of the Year, and his agreement with the Pacers was reported two months ago.

All three of these players are likely to be designated as affiliate players for the Indiana Mad Ants, which is the Pacers’ G League team.

Provided they spend a minimum of 60 days with the Mad Ants, they will be eligible for Exhibit 10 bonuses, which can potentially reach a value of up to $75,000.

With these signings, the Pacers have now assembled a complete 21-man roster.
