The Indiana Pacers have sealed a three-year, $33 million contract extension with Aaron Nesmith, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The 24-year-old small forward had a remarkable first season with Indiana, making his way into the starting lineup and posting averages of 10.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists over 73 games.
This extension signifies the organization’s belief in his role within the young core as they aim to contend for the playoffs.
Nesmith was acquired by the Pacers from Boston in the summer trade involving Malcolm Brogdon.
Boston originally drafted him as the 14th pick in the 2020 draft, but he struggled to secure a consistent spot in the rotation during his two years with the team.
Before the extension begins next season, Nesmith will earn $5,634,257 in the final year of his rookie contract. Once the agreement is finalized, he will remain under contract until the 2026/27 season.
