Mitchell Robinson to Miss at Least 6-8 Weeks

After being listed out for Game 2 of the playoffs against the Pacers, Knicks center Mitchell Robinson is set to remain off the court for an extended period due to a stress injury in his left ankle. The team has announced that he will undergo re-evaluation in 6-8 weeks.

Robinson’s playing time was limited to just 12 minutes in New York’s Game 1 victory, where he managed to contribute two points, two rebounds, and an assist. He had previously missed a game in the first-round series against Philadelphia.

With Robinson sidelined, New York’s starters, particularly starting center Isaiah Hartenstein, are facing heavy minutes, as Hartenstein logged 38 minutes in Game 1.

Forward Precious Achiuwa, who saw only four minutes of action off the bench as the team’s eighth man in the last game, is expected to have an increased role in Robinson’s absence.

It’s worth noting that Robinson underwent left ankle surgery in December and had previously sprained his ankle during Game 3 of the quarterfinals against the 76ers.
