Miles Bridges Returns to Hornets’ Practice Post Bond Release

The most recent update from the Hornets’ camp informs us that Miles Bridges has rejoined their practice sessions.

Bridges surrendered to local authorities earlier this week after a warrant was issued for his arrest, stemming from a breach of a protection order, child abuse, and damage to personal property charges.

Bridges made an appearance before a district county judge and was released on a $1,000 secured bond.

There remains an element of uncertainty concerning Bridges’ future with the team, as he has already been granted a second opportunity.

To serve his suspension imposed by the NBA, he will have to sit out the first ten matches of the 2023-24 season.

The Hornets have not issued an official statement on the matter, and when questioned about the prospect of Bridges’ absence, head coach Steve Clifford remarked on Saturday,

“just take it day by day. Listen, in this league, you learn two things right away – first, don’t focus on the schedule. Don’t worry about having a tough February. Just handle it day by day. When it comes to the players, I come in every day and talk to (trainer) Joe Sharpe, asking who we have today. And that’s who you coach.”

Nonetheless, Bridges was present at today’s practice and even took part in the media-accessible shootaround.

His participation during the closed segment with the rest of the team remains undisclosed.

Bridges’ record as a Hornets player includes 291 appearances, showcasing average numbers of 13.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game.

His next scheduled court appearance is on November 13th.
