Nuggets fans have eagerly awaited an official announcement concerning Jamal Murray’s injury, which he incurred during the clash with the Chicago Bulls.
Nuggets coach Michael Malone revealed on Monday night, as Denver prepared to face the Pelicans, that Jamal Murray’s right hamstring strain might keep him sidelined for an extended period.
Malone told reporters “We’ll kind of continue to talk to our doctors, but his injury is not a one- or two-game injury” …”That’s what I do know. This will be something that will be longer than we would like…You have to have the big picture in mind and make sure we’re putting him in position to get healthy before he comes back. Because this is an injury that, if you keep having recurring hamstring injuries or soft tissue injuries, they can linger and become even worse. And that’s the one thing we do not want to happen” Malone added.
Murray was forced to exit the previous contest against the Chicago Bulls due to tightness in his right hamstring.
Before the Chicago encounter, Murray had been a consistent presence on the court for all six of the team’s opening games, averaging 18.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per match.
During his absence, Reggie Jackson is anticipated to step into the starting lineup. Jackson has primarily served as the first reserve player for Denver this season, acting as the backup point guard behind Murray.
In the coming hour, the Nuggets are set to face the Pelicans as they look forward to boosting their victory count.
