The Miami Heat have signed former Milwaukee Bucks draft pick, RJ Hampton to a two way contract, the team confirmed on Wednesday.
The Miami HEAT have orchestrated a significant roster shake-up with a series of transactions. Firstly, they confirmed the release of Jamaree Bouyea and Caleb Daniels. Subsequently, the HEAT welcomed Jon Elmore and Cheick Diallo to their roster.
However, the roster adjustments didn’t stop there, as they waived Jon Elmore and secured the signing of former Bucks player RJ Hampton on a Two-Way Contract. Specific contract details remain undisclosed.
RJ Hampton, originally drafted 24th overall by the Bucks in the 2020 NBA Draft, has seen action in 162 NBA games, including 18 starts across Denver, Orlando, and Detroit.
He boasts averages of 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in approximately 18.8 minutes per game. Hampton’s talents were evident in the G League, where he played eight regular-season games with the Lakeland Magic last season.
There, he averaged 22.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in roughly 27.3 minutes per game. His shooting prowess was showcased with a 46.3 percent field goal rate and an impressive 85.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Having failed to secure Damian Lillard’s services, this acquisition appears to be an attempt to appease Miami Heat fans.
Nevertheless, as the training camp approaches, any mention of Damian Lillard will undoubtedly evoke fresh feelings of disappointment among Miami Heat supporters.
