Memphis Grizzlies Announce the Signing of Bismack Biyombo

NOV 1 : The Memphis Grizzlies have solidified their roster by officially confirming the signing of Bismack Biyombo, as stated in the team’s announcement.

OCT 29 : A seasoned center, Bismack Biyombo, is on the verge of joining the Memphis Grizzlies, as reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The Grizzlies are poised to include Ja Morant on the suspended list once he has completed five games of his 25-game suspension, and it is Charania’s suggestion that the signing will transpire at that juncture.

The Grizzlies have encountered a challenging 0-3 start and are gearing up for upcoming matchups against Dallas on Monday and Utah on Wednesday.

At 31 years old, Biyombo is set to bring his interior presence to a Grizzlies team currently without their starting center, Steven Adams, who is set to miss the entire season due to knee surgery.

The team is also without their backup center, Brandon Clarke, who is still recuperating from a torn Achilles sustained in March. Consequently, they have placed Xavier Tillman in the center position.

Having spent the past two years with the Phoenix Suns, Biyombo now finds himself a free agent.

In the previous season, he participated in 61 games, making 14 starts, and delivered averages of 4.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 14.3 minutes per game.

While he exhibited a solid 57.8% field goal percentage, it’s important to note his limited shooting range, as he has yet to sink a three-pointer in his career.

The Grizzlies currently boast a complete roster, which means they’ll need to release a player to make room for Biyombo, but only after Morant is officially placed on the suspended list.
