Mavs’ Notes: Jason Kidd to Extend With Dallas; Tim Hardaway Jr. Nears Return Ahead of Round 2 vs OKC

The Dallas Mavericks have progressed to the next stage of the NBA Playoffs this year. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, there’s talk of Jason Kidd potentially securing a contract extension as a result.

During his tenure, Kidd has steered the Mavericks to two seasons with over 50 wins out of three. Their notable achievement was reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2022.

Despite missing out on the playoffs last season, the Mavericks are now gearing up to face the Oklahoma City Thunder, with a chance to make it back to the Western Conference Finals.

Rumors were circulating that the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in acquiring Kidd. However, it seems they’ve abandoned any hopes of pursuing him to replace Darvin Ham.

More on the Mavericks’ :

  • Regarding Tim Hardaway’s injury, he returned to practice on Sunday as the Mavericks gear up for the second round against the OKC Thunder. Hardaway injured his right ankle during Game 2 of the first-round series against the Clippers and sat out the remaining four games.

Although his return to practice is a positive development, his official status for Tuesday’s Game 1 against the Thunder will likely remain uncertain until Monday afternoon. If he’s unable to return, it’s anticipated that Josh Green will receive more playing time.
