Marcus Smart Says ‘Things Are Going to Click’ Ahead of Grizzlies’ Matchup vs Blazers

Marcus Smart, in light of the Memphis Grizzlies’ winless start to the season, has offered his perspective ahead of their upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers, emphasizing the need to stay level-headed.

The Grizzlies, currently the sole winless team in the NBA at 0-5, are facing a challenging beginning, but Smart pointed out the importance of maintaining composure throughout the long season.

“You can’t get too high; can’t get too low because it’s a long season,” Smart Said.

He highlighted the need to improve defensively during crucial moments and acknowledged the learning process, especially in a team with several new faces.

Smart also expressed optimism, stating that with time, things will fall into place, and success will come.

“We’ve got to lock in a bit more down the stretch on the defensive end. It’s part of the learning process, part of coming into something new for everybody. For us, it’s just to keep going. Eventually, the tide is going to turn. Things are going to click. It’s just taking some time right now.” Smart added.

The Memphis Grizzlies have encountered challenges in the current season, with significant absences such as Steven Adams, Brandon Clarke and Derrick Rose due to injuries, and Ja Morant still serving a suspension with 20 games left to return.

However, the team is resolute in their efforts to change their fortunes as they participate in their first NBA in-season tournament, facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers in pursuit of a crucial win.
