LeBron Joining Suns “Not Realistic”, Even with Bronny Draft Hopes: Insider

NBA insider John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports suggests that the possibility of LeBron James joining the Phoenix Suns, even if they draft his son Bronny James, is “not realistic.”

The Suns hold the 22nd pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, where Bronny will be working out with both the Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron, who turns 40 in a couple of months, is expected to opt out of his player option for the 2024-25 season with the Lakers and sign a new deal with the team.

The Lakers have the potential to draft Bronny, with the 17th and 55th picks in the upcoming draft. Bronny, who played for USC, showcased promising skills during the NBA Draft Combine’s second scrimmage, scoring 13 points in 23 minutes and impressing with his shooting.

LeBron, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, had a strong season with the Lakers, averaging 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. However, the Lakers were eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year.

For the Suns’, their playoff hopes were dashed after being swept by the Timberwolves, resulting in the dismissal of Frank Vogel and his entire coaching staff.
