Kevin Porter Jr. Says He Wants to Return to the NBA

Kevin Porter Jr., formerly of the Houston Rockets, shared his desire to make a comeback in the NBA. If that doesn’t pan out, he made it clear that he’s set on only considering PAOK if he heads to Europe.

After grappling with legal issues and not finding much opportunity in the NBA, Porter Jr. found solace with PAOK mateco in Greece. He made it clear that PAOK is his only choice in Europe.

In a recent win over Maroussi in the Greek League (ESAKE), Porter Jr. had a standout performance with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists. When asked about his future after the game, he pondered his options.

“Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens, but personally, I can’t picture myself playing for any other overseas team if I decide to stick around here for another year,” he said. “If I get the opportunity to return to the NBA, that’s where I’ll probably end up. But if not, my heart is with PAOK.”

Further, Porter Jr was gratitude towards PAOK for the support and opportunity they provided, saying, “I feel like I belong here, like I’m part of a family. PAOK has given me the kind of support and environment I needed to come out of my shell. So, I’m committed to staying here.”

Porter Jr.’s impressive performance in Greece speaks for itself, with averages of 20.75 points, 8.25 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 3 steals per game in his first four outings. His journey to PAOK followed legal troubles and a stint in the NBA that didn’t pan out, but he found a new home and purpose in Greece.
