Justin Minaya Signs Two-Way Contract with Portland Trail Blazers

Providence alumnus Justin Minaya has struck a deal for a two-way contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, as per  ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Minaya went undrafted in 2022, spent a year in the G League, and secured a position with the Blazers during the preseason.

During the 2023-24 preseason, Minaya made appearances in two matches for the Portland Trail Blazers.

Last year, he played in four games with the team, where he maintained an average of 4.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks, all within an average of 22.3 minutes per game.

Sean Highkin reports that the Blazers will release John Butler Jr. in order to accommodate Justin Minaya’s two-way contract.

It’s also been conveyed that George Conditt, who was on an Exhibit 10 deal, will be waived today, and he’s expected to join the Rip City Remix.

Now that Minaya has secured a two-way contract and Moses Brown is presumably set to stay with the team as frontcourt support, the final battle for the Blazers’ 14th roster spot comes down to Duop Reath and Kevin Knox II.
