The Hornets are parting ways with wing R.J. Hunter, center Nathan Mensah, and guard Terrell Brown Jr., according to the team’s official statement.

Hunter, Mensah, and Brown were all under non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contracts and are now likely candidates to join the Greensboro Swarm, which is Charlotte’s G League affiliate, once they pass through the waiver process.

The Swarm recently acquired Brown’s rights from the Memphis Hustle, and Mensah can become an affiliate player since he’s a rookie whose rights in the NBAGL were not previously claimed by another team.

Hunter should also be eligible as an affiliate player, as he hasn’t played in the G League since the 2019/20 season, which means his rights have expired.

Following the release of these three players, the Hornets will have 15 players under standard contracts and three under two-way deals.

There won’t be any additional moves needed to finalize their roster for the regular season, although this doesn’t rule out the possibility of Charlotte making further changes before the upcoming cut-down deadline on Monday.
