Hawks Expected to Make Clint Capela Available for Trade This Summer

With recent rumors about the Hawks possibly moving either Dejounte Murray or Trae Young this summer, the team is also expected to put center Clint Capela on the trade block, according to Marc Stein.

The Hawks have Onyeka Okongwu starting a four-year extension this coming season, and they could draft big man Alex Sarr with the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

Capela has one season left on his contract, worth $22.3 million for 2024-25. At 30 years old, he’s one of the older players on the Hawks roster.

Last season, the Switzerland native averaged 11.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks, marking his seventh consecutive season averaging a points-rebounds double-double.
