Doc Rivers Worried About Giannis’ Injury; Testing Scheduled for Calf and Achilles

Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, had to exit the game against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday due to a left calf injury.

Coach Doc Rivers told reporters that Antetokounmpo would undergo testing, including an MRI, for the injury.

The incident occurred in the third quarter after Antetokounmpo made a 3-pointer, crumbling to the floor without any contact while clutching his left leg.

His teammates assisted him off the court during a timeout. Later, it was confirmed that he had a left soleus strain, a muscle in the calf, which forced him out of the game in the fourth quarter.

Despite the injury, Antetokounmpo put up impressive numbers, scoring 15 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 7 assists.

He left the arena without addressing reporters. Coach Rivers expressed significant concern about Antetokounmpo’s injury but remained hopeful for his recovery.

Antetokounmpo had been listed on the injury report before the game and had missed a previous game due to the same injury.

The Bucks had been struggling with a losing streak before this game, but their win now gives them a 1½-game lead for the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference.
