The Chicago Bulls have encountered a disappointing start to their season, standing at 1-2 with struggles evident in all three games.
Their season opener loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder prompted a players-only meeting in an effort to address issues as they continue their 2023-24 NBA campaign.
Following their recent defeat against the Detroit Pistons, the team’s veteran stars, Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, are contemplating the present and future of their partnership, reports Bulls insider KC Johnson
LaVine expressed, “It’s our third year here together. We know how this business is. We all love each other. DeMar is one of my best friends. We talk all the time. But we have to figure out how to make this thing work,”
DeRozan echoed LaVine’s sentiments, emphasizing the necessity to discover a winning formula. He remains optimistic about the Bulls’ ability to overcome their challenges.
“I think we’re going to get it. It’s frustrating because so much time went by that you think it should be second nature. But I think we at times maybe overcompensate for one another because we want it to click so bad,” DeRozan remarked.
The Bulls’ solitary victory this season came in an overtime win against the Toronto Raptors. Even before that game, DeRozan had confidently assured fans of a guaranteed win.
It seems like every Bulls fan would appreciate DeRozan continuing to make assurances for the remaining 79 games.
The Bulls are set to take on the Indiana Pacers in their next game, where they hope to make improvements and rectify their performance.
