The Indiana Colts have added seven undrafted free agents to their roster, bringing in some fresh talent after drafting nine rookies.
Theo new additions as announced by the team are :
– Jason Bean: Quarterback/Wide Receiver (Kansas)
– Kedon Slovis: Quarterback (BYU)
– Trent Pennix: Running Back (NC State)
– Spencer Shrader: Kicker (Notre Dame)
– Dalton Tucker: Guard (Marshall)
– Xavier White: Wide Receiver (Texas Tech)
– Craig Young: Linebacker (Kansas)
It’s worth noting that Jason Bean, who played quarterback at Kansas, is listed as both a quarterback and wide receiver by the Colts, likely due to his versatility on the field. With Anthony Richardson as the top quarterback and Joe Flacco as the backup, Bean’s chances of making the roster might be better at a different position.
Kedon Slovis, another quarterback signed by the Colts, faces a tough challenge to secure a spot on the team, given his inconsistent college career. While he had a standout freshman season in 2019 with 30 touchdowns, his performance has been inconsistent since then, including his recent stint at BYU.
Of all the undrafted free agents, Spencer Shrader stands out as having the most realistic chance of making the team, as he will compete with veteran Matt Gay for the primary kicker position. Despite his college record of 68.3 percent field goal accuracy, Shrader’s consistency on extra points could give him an edge in the competition.
