The Indiana Colts have signed contracts with five rookies from the 2024 NFL draft today, according to ESPN’s Adam Shafter. Among them are defensive end Laiatu Latu, linebacker Jaylon Carlies, cornerbacks Jaylin Simpson and Micah Abraham, and defensive tackle Jonah Laulu.
Latu, standing tall at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 259 pounds, was picked by Indianapolis in the first round (15th overall) of the draft. He showcased his skills during his time at UCLA and Washington, tallying impressive stats including 24 sacks and two interceptions.
Carlies, 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 227 pounds, was chosen in the fifth round (151st overall) from Missouri. With 9 interceptions to his name, he proved his exceptional ability in the defensive lineup.
Simpson, at 6 feet tall and 179 pounds, got selected in the fifth round (164th overall) from Auburn. Known for his agility, he secured seven interceptions throughout his college career.
Abraham, standing at 5 feet 10 inches and weighing 185 pounds, was picked in the sixth round (201st overall) from Marshall. With 12 interceptions and 55 passes defensed, he showcased his knack for interceptions and defensive plays.
Laulu, a hefty 6 feet 5 inches and 292 pounds, was grabbed in the seventh round (234th overall) from Oklahoma. Despite his size, he demonstrated agility and academic excellence throughout his college career.
Additionally, the Colts also signed seven undrafted free agents, including Jason Bean from Kansas, Trent Pennix from NC State, Spencer Shrader from Notre Dame, Kedon Slovis from BYU, Dalton Tucker from Marshall, Xavier White from Texas Tech, and Craig Young from Kansas, the team announced.
