After spending the 2023-24 season playing for both the Miami Heat and the Philadelphia 76ers, seasoned point guard Kyle Lowry is about to enter unrestricted free agency this offseason.
Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer has suggested that a return to Philadelphia seemed probable for Lowry, but other teams are also vying for his talents.
According to Bovada, the Los Angeles Clippers are the frontrunners to sign the 2019 champion if he doesn’t re-sign with the 76ers.
Bovada lists the odds for Kyle Lowry’s next team:
– Los Angeles Clippers: +180
– Los Angeles Lakers: +300
– Phoenix Suns: +300
– Toronto Raptors: +300
– New Orleans Pelicans: +550
– Golden State Warriors: +600
This offseason, Lowry has been linked to the Clippers, alongside the Warriors’ Chris Paul as per Marc Stein of SteinLine. In February, Lowry joined the 76ers after the Charlotte Hornets released him immediately following a trade.
While with the 76ers, Lowry played in 23 regular-season games, starting 20 of them. During these appearances, he averaged 8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
In the playoffs, over six games, he posted averages of 7 points, 4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game, as the Sixers were eliminated by the New York Knicks in the first round.
Over his career, spanning stints with the Grizzlies, Rockets, Raptors, Heat, and Sixers, Lowry has averaged 14.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game.
Extra Notes : According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, a new rule this year allows teams to begin negotiating with their own free agents immediately after the Finals conclude. Therefore, if the NBA Finals end tonight, we could start seeing contract negotiations as early as tomorrow. Expect some contract talks soon after tonight’s game, or possibly after game 6 or 7 if the Mavericks secure a road win tonight vs Celtics
