Former San Antonio Spurs player and free agent guard Josh Primo is set to sign a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers, signaling a fresh chapter in his basketball journey per Adrian Wojnarowski
In an unexpected move that caught Spurs fans off guard, Primo was waived by the team on October 28 last season, just before a game against the Chicago Bulls.
This decision was especially surprising given that Primo had been the 12th overall pick in the previous year’s draft.
However, the shocking revelation came to light that Primo had allegedly engaged in inappropriate behavior, including exposing himself to women, with Dr. Hillary Cauthen, a former psychologist for the Spurs, being one of the notable individuals involved.
This led to a lawsuit filed against both Primo and the Spurs, which was subsequently settled in November.
Wojnarowski reported that Primo underwent evaluation by specialists who collaborate with the Clippers, and the organization feels confident in providing him with this opportunity.
Recent footage has shown Primo participating in scrimmages with top NBA talent, underscoring his determination for a potential return to the league.
These sessions included notable players such as Davion Mitchell and Kevin Huerter of the Sacramento Kings, Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson of the Detroit Pistons, Kevon Looney of the Golden State Warriors, and more.
Throughout his tenure with the San Antonio Spurs, Primo displayed his potential in 54 games, with statistical averages of 5.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
