The Clippers recently broke free from a six-game losing streak, securing three consecutive wins. In a conversation with Janis Carr of The Orange County Register, the team expresses confidence in their newfound rhythm and established rotation.
Paul George shares his positive outlook: “I think we’re in a good place. We kind of know at this point what the rotation is, and I think we’re getting in a rhythm…There’s consistency there, and I think that we’re in good shape. We liked how we looked offensively and defensively, and now it’s time to test it.”
Despite integrating new players like James Harden, P.J. Tucker, and Daniel Theis, the Clippers, while showing improvement, faced the struggling San Antonio Spurs in their last two wins. Kawhi Leonard emphasizes the need for continual enhancement as they approach a more challenging schedule.
Leonard reflects, “We want to win every game and it shows that we’re getting better…But like you said, we still got a lot to learn and to get better at. You guys could see at the end of that game, we had some careless turnovers, and they got some easy looks at the basket and wide-open layups. So, we got to buy in and figure that out.”
Norman Powell’s Injury :
Shifting focus to Norman Powell’s injury, his availability for Friday’s game against the New Orleans’ Pelicans remains uncertain due to a sore right groin as he’s listed Questionable.
Powell, departing during the first half of Wednesday’s victory over the San Antonio Spurs, could potentially miss the first of five games in seven days for the Clippers.
In such circumstances, Amir Coffey and Bones Hyland could end up seeing more playing time, even if Powell receives clearance to play.
If he is unable to participate in the Pelicans matchup, the next chance for him to take the court would be against the Dallas Mavericks.
