The Los Angeles Clippers have opted to exercise Bones Hyland’s fourth-year option for the 2024/25 season, according to a report by Law Murray of The Athletic.
Hyland is set to earn $4,158,439 in the upcoming season. The Clippers acquired him from the Denver Nuggets in exchange for two second-round draft picks last year.
Originally a late first-round pick in the 2021 draft, Hyland vocally expressed his desire for a more prominent role with the Denver Nuggets, which ultimately led to his departure from the team.
Since the trade, Hyland hasn’t seen a significant increase in his playing time, but he appears to have found a sense of stability and contentment in Los Angeles.
This season, he’s making a strong impact as part of the Clippers’ second unit, averaging 15.7 points and 1.7 assists in 21.7 minutes per night.
