Chris Paul to Join Spurs

Chris Paul and the San Antonio Spurs have reached a contract agreement, according to Chris B. Haynes of Bleacher Report and TNT.

At 39, Paul still showed his skills during the 2023/24 season, averaging 9.2 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game in 26.4 minutes over 58 games, including 18 starts, with the Warriors.

He recorded shooting percentages of .441 from the field, .371 from three-point range, and .827 from the free-throw line. Earlier today, the Warriors released him.

Marc Stein had already reported that the Spurs were keen on acquiring Paul, describing their interest as “strong.” The 12-time All-Star could serve as an ideal, though temporary, pick-and-roll partner for Victor Wembanyama.
