Chauncey Billups Hopes for Shaedon Sharpe’s Return Before End of Season

Portland Trail Blazers’ coach, Chauncey Billups, says he hopes Shaedon Sharpe will return before the season ends after having abdominal surgery, as per Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca.

Billups said it’s tough for Sharpe being sidelined, as the 20 year old guard wants to play all 82 games.

“This has been tough on him. He wants to play 82 games. He’s one of those guys. … If he’s healthy, we’d love to have him back. I don’t care how much of the season is left. He’s a guy who needs those reps.” Billups said.

Sharpe had successful surgery on February 9th for a core muscle injury. He’s been averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 33.1 minutes per game this season, with 25 starts out of 32 games.

He was the seventh overall pick in the 2022 draft and has averaged 11.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists over 112 career games, with 40 starts.
