The Cleveland Cavaliers have officially exercised their fourth-year option on Evan Mobley, ensuring his $11,227,657 salary for the 2024/25 season, reports Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com
Mobley, the third overall pick in the 2021 draft, quickly became a starter for the Cavs, playing a pivotal role in their transformation into a playoff team.
As he turns 22, Mobley is a key part of the organization’s future plans, and he’s set to become eligible for a rookie scale extension next summer.
If an extension isn’t reached by then, he could become a restricted free agent in 2025.
In the previous season, Mobley showcased his skills by averaging 16.2 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, with a remarkable 55.4% field goal shooting.
Additionally, he blocked an average of 1.5 shots per game, establishing himself as one of the league’s premier defensive big men.
