Bulls Waive Drell and Heidegger to Open Up Two Roster Spots

The Chicago Bulls have made roster cuts by announcing on X(formerly twitter) that they’ve waived forward Henri Drell and guard Max Heidegger, creating two open roster spots. The Bulls previously had a full 21-man roster.

Henri Drell, aged 23, has spent the past two seasons playing for the Windy City Bulls, the Chicago G League affiliate.

While he didn’t have a significant role in the 2021/22 season, he became a starter last season, averaging 11.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

Max Heidegger, aged 26, has been playing professionally in Europe since he went undrafted out of UC Santa Barbara in 2020.

He has had stints with teams in Israel, Germany, Turkey, and Spain over the last three seasons. Also, he was an outstanding three-point shooter during his college career.

Both Drell and Heidegger had limited playing time in the Bulls’ first two preseason games. Each of them logged just five minutes in the team’s opening game against Milwaukee and did not play in the game against Denver.

It is highly likely that both Drell and Heidegger will join the Windy City Bulls, the G League affiliate, where they are eligible for Exhibit 10 bonuses of $75,000 each if they spend at least 60 days with the G League team.
