Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton was sidelined during Friday’s victory against the Washington Wizards due to tightness in his left Achilles.
The injury occurred around the 10:40 mark in the third quarter, prompting Middleton to head to the locker room, where rookie Andre Jackson Jr. stepped in as his replacement.
To prevent any potential escalation, the Bucks are opting for a cautious approach with Middleton, particularly given his history of managing knee issues earlier in the season.
Bucks coach Adrian Griffin addressed the situation, mentioning that Middleton was removed as a precautionary measure, and further evaluation will take place.
“I think he had some tightness in his left Achilles and so just took him out for precautionary measures. And then we’ll just evaluate him tomorrow.” Griffin told reporters.
Also the Bucks say Middleton did not need to undergo any imaging on the left Achilles tonight, as Eric Nehm of The Athletic notes.
Unlike the knee problem that limited his playing time, this left Achilles tightness is a recent concern for Middleton.
Given Middleton’s injury-prone past, the Bucks are undoubtedly hoping for a swift recovery, considering he played just 33 games last season.
Despite missing only three games this season, Middleton’s current averages stand at 12 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.1 assists.
The looming question revolves around Middleton’s availability for the upcoming game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday. The Bucks, undoubtedly, will be monitoring his status closely.
