The Brooklyn Nets have officially inked deals with guard Kennedy Chandler and center Patrick Gardner, as reported by Brian Lewis from The New York Post.

Most likely, both players have signed Exhibit 10 contracts, which grant them the opportunity to earn bonuses of up to $75,000 if they are released by the Brooklyn Nets and then spend a minimum of 60 days with the Long Island Nets.

It’s worth noting that neither of these players’ G League rights are owned by any other team, allowing the Nets to designate them as affiliate players.

These Exhibit 10 contracts can also be transformed into two-way contracts, and it’s worth mentioning that Brooklyn still has an available two-way contract slot.

Kennedy Chandler, who was selected as the 38th overall pick in the 2022 draft, initially signed a four-year contract with the Grizzlies last July, which included three guaranteed seasons.

However, the Grizzlies decided to waive him in April to create space for Kenneth Lofton, even though they were committed to paying his salaries for the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.

During his rookie year, Chandler made appearances in 36 NBA games, where he averaged 2.2 points and 1.6 assists in 7.8 minutes per game.

He demonstrated more prowess in the 12 G League games he played with the Memphis Hustle, averaging 15.3 points and 6.2 assists.

His performance in the Summer League with Brooklyn this year was also noteworthy, averaging 14.0 points and 5.4 assists.

Nevertheless, he still grappled with his three-point shooting, only making 2 of 14 attempts (14.3%) in Las Vegas, after shooting a mere 24.0% from beyond the arc in the NBAGL last season.

On the other hand, Patrick Gardner sealed his Exhibit 10 contract with the Nets in July, following his participation in the Summer League with the Miami Heat and his representation of Egypt at the World Cup.

This versatile big man, who transferred to Marist for his final college year, had an impressive season, averaging 19.1 points and 6.6 rebounds in 30.9 minutes per game across 33 games in the 2022/23 season.

Notably, he also boasted a remarkable three-point shooting percentage of 38.3%, a remarkable feat for a 6’11” frontcourt player.

The Brooklyn Nets had a preseason roster with 18 players, and no cuts were required to accommodate Chandler and Gardner. The team still has one available spot on its 21-man squad.
