Braves’ Catcher Travis d’Arnaud Left Game Early Due to Dizziness

Braves catcher Travis d’Arnaud left Friday’s game against the Padres due to dizziness, the team announced.

In the top of the fifth inning, d’Arnaud was hit in the mask by a foul ball, which may have caused the dizziness, although the team didn’t confirm this.

Chadwick Tromp took over behind the plate at the start of the sixth inning. D’Arnaud has a history of concussions, having suffered four throughout his career.

The Braves are already missing catcher Sean Murphy, who is recovering from a left oblique strain, and third baseman Austin Riley, who is sidelined with left side soreness.
