Additionally, it’s mentioned that the Suns are adopting a careful stance regarding Beal’s back ailment as they kick off the new season.
Beal is embarking on his debut season with the Phoenix Suns following his acquisition in a three-team trade from the Washington Wizards in June.
The 30-year-old posted an average of 23.2 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game during his last season with the Wizards.
Before this summer’s trade, Beal, originally selected as the third overall pick by the Wizards in 2012, had spent his entire professional career in Washington.
He boasts a three-time All-Star status and earned the distinction of third-team All-NBA in the 2020-21 season.
Shams Charania also notes that Devin Booker, who has a toe injury, is uncertain for the season opener, with a 50-50 chance of playing. Booker intends to warm up and make an attempt to participate.
